Nestling among the oak forest of the estate of Arceno sits Villa Casanova, a secluded single house set over two floors which was once a barn and hayloft with a threshing floor. Beautifully restored to high standards with all the conveniences and comfort of a modern home, Casanova oozes charm and tranquillity. The house benefits from total seclusion providing absolute privacy. Set in a large garden the house is surrounded by a lawn, flower beds and olive trees. From the house the garden blends into the forest beyond with oak trees, natural rock formations, terraces with little glades where guests may sit in the shade or sunshine and admire the stupendous views across the Chianti countryside. Toward the South past vineyards, olive groves and fields lies Monte Amiata the highest peak in the Siena area.
Although ‘deep in the woods’ and secluded, Casanova is within easy reach of the local village of San Gusmè where you can take a drink at one of the local bars or eat at one of the restaurants or pick up some basics items from the village shop. Further afield the town of Castenuovo Berardenga is within a ten minute drive where two supermarkets and a market every Thursday morning cater for every need. A ‘gelateria’ caters for those in love with ice cream and several ‘trattoria’ and restaurants for traditional Tuscan cuisine or more modern takes on traditional Italian food.
