The restoration took place from 2015 to 2017 with emphasis for detail and aesthetics to create the perfect balance between traditional Tuscan charm and contemporary lifestyle needs. From the terracotta tiles in the floor to the regal wood beam ceilings and 17thC fireplace, every surface of Tenuta has been lovingly restored, honouring the architectural structures in place since the Middle Ages. The exterior buildings showcase the stones used in the first construction peeking out behind wisteria and wild grape vines. The interiors feature a maze-like succession of open and intimate spaces filled with an abundance of natural sunlight. Finely crafted Tuscan antiques were sourced from around the region and refurbished in a 5th generation family-owned studio belonging to Florence’s most prestigious woodworkers which crafted the custom-made hand-carved wood furniture and fine artefacts – large mirrors, elegant tables, chairs, sideboards, and hand-carved wood and wrought iron chandeliers. Each en-suite bathroom has been outfitted with Italian design fixtures, Florentine artisanal custom-made brass and bronze furnishings and finished with stunning Tuscan marble and travertine stone.
