The Agriturismo "La rocca della rosa" is a 200 years old Sicilian villa surrounded by 5 hectares of land, cultivated mainly with cherry and olive trees. It was always meant to be a vacation house and nowadays it's an "agriturismo" where it's possible to rent rooms, a suite or a small apartment, for short or longer periods. There is also a restaurant, with typical sicilian cuisine, available on reservation and a swimming pool. The position, 500 meters on the sea level on Etna, makes it very special with a beautiful view from the roof terrace, both on the Mediterranean sea and on Etna itself. The closest cost is about 10km away, the city of Catania (where there is also the closest airport) is about 30 minutes away, at the same distance, in the other direction, there is the beautiful town of Taormina. Being higher then the sea level makes it also very pleasant in summer, which is the reason why there were always many vacation houses on Etna.
The best things you can do, in my opinion, are: -a tour to the top of Etna -wine tasting at the many many wineries around us (also just 500 meters away) -visit the "Gole dell'Alcantara" -visit Taormina, both in day and evening is equally beautiful -visit Catania and its Greek and Roman theatres, the cathedral, the baroque buildings etc. -visit Acitrezza and the other small towns at the sea where you can find delicious fish restaurants -visit Acireale
