We care greatly about health and safety and wish to share our new policies regarding COVID-19. We abide by best recommended practices in our own lives and home, and are especially attentive to our guests' concerns when staying away from home. We are sanitizing everything using approved products and can assure at least 48 hrs minimum time between check out and check in of new guests in any given room. We can do check in, check out and payments remotely to encourage social distancing and avoid unnecessary face to face contact. We are available 24/7 by phone and we can also come to the B&B if you prefer, but we require use of protective face masks. Hand sanitizer and gloves are provided in the common area. My sister Claudia and I were born and raised in Rome and proudly opened Houspitality Nero, our third B&B, in 2013. As you enter the building you'll see the internal courtyard with trees and plants. As you enter the b&b itself, at the entrance you'll still see marble from the original construction and vaulted ceilings with stuccos in the common area and in the rooms. When my sister and I renovated it in 2013, we opted for an elegant, but minimalist style. My sister Claudia painted most of the art you will find on the walls. They are replicas of some famous artists paintings that we love.
When my sister and I bought the place in 2013 we fell in love with the neighborhood. If you wake up early in the morning and walk 50 meters to the left as you exit the building, you will find the beautiful Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the biggest square in Rome, more a park that a square, with people doing their daily Tai Chi exercizes. If you instead turn right and walk 30 meters, you'll find the Esquilino market. People from all parts of Rome come here to buy the best bio fruit and vegetables together with the best spices at a very convenient price. I like to enjoy an espresso at the bar in the internal courtyard of the University, which is next to the market: nothing special, just the atmosphere and the laughter of the students. Vittorio Emanuele square and the Esquilino district have been built in the late 19th century right after Rome became the capital City of Italy. Based on the architecture of Turin, the former Capital and residence of King Vittorio Emanuele, the district was the residential area for the bureaucrats of the new administration.
