We are a professional couple that live in Ostuni after 25 years in Hong Kong. We enjoy sailing, hiking and being outdoors. It is our dream/ to become reality to retire to Apulia.
A delightful apartment located in a small piazza a stones throw from the central park area, Piazza Liberta and the Centro Storico. The house was built in the 1700's and has been tastefully renovated to provide a feeling of space and brightness. There is a little cafe below us where we purchase our breakfast, then sit out on the balcony watching the movements of the piazza whilst sipping freshly made coffee and a warm pastry. The upper terraces offer amazing views of the Centro Storico & the Med.You will enter your holiday home from ground level, through a large antique black wooden door. Walk up the stone stairs and you will have your first sighting of Il Capasone (a clay vessel used for storing olive oil or wine from the region). The stairs bring you into the air-conditioned main living area, offering a large sofa bed, cupboard space, well equipped kitchen (4 ring hob, fridge and washing machine). The full length wooden shutters open up to a small terrace area that looks over the piazza. This area is large enough for a small table and chairs. There is a good sized bathroom with shower etc. on this level. Traditional stone stairs will take you up to the two large roof terraces and
Love the cafe below the house, great coffee and warm pastries. Sit on your balcony and watch the movements in the piazza. Various cuisines are offered by the restaurants around the piazza with more restaurants within a few minutes walk towards and around the Piazza Liberta. The Saturday (8am - 12noon fruit & vegetable market is with walking distance. This along side the larger market that sells shoes, clothes, handbags.......
