We have been slowly renovating our stone farmhouse over the last 20 years. The result is very simple and rustic rather than smart, but we love our house and are very happy to share this beautiful setting with our guests. All around the house there is woodland and olives groves and a small flower garden, with a stream at the bottom of our hill. The best thing about our house is the incredible bird song of an evening and the stars in the nighttime. The garden is quite wild, with some roses and lots of lavender. These surroundings are perfect for relaxation after hectic days spent site-seeing in the city. There are also some wonderful walks around here, including one to a local vineyard where you can taste the wine. The room is cosy and opens out onto its own little terrace in the garden. It is very clean, comfortable with fresh bed linen and has good wi-fi and the windows and door have MOSQUITO NETS! We don't provide breakfast as we go out to work, but we leave some essentials for our guests to make their own breakfast using the outdoor kitchenette.
We are an Italo-Anglo family that live and work in the house. We love welcoming visitors from all over the world and are happy to provide any information needed about places to visit and things to do while staying in Chianti.
This is a wonderful location as we are immersed in the countryside, but not isolated as we are a five minute walk from the village of Montefioralle (one of the most beautiful villages in Italy) and a twenty minute walk or a two minute drive from the popular market town of Greve in Chianti. Montefioralle has a bar and a couple of excellent restaurants. In Greve there are shops, a supermarket, banks, restaurants, bars. Everything you need. There is also a market on Saturday mornings. Florence is easily reached by bus and Siena is a forth minute drive away. We recommend people to have a car to fully enjoy visiting the Chianti area.
