Views on Venice was founded in the late 1990’s when the concept of short term apartment rentals was in its infancy and rarely considered an option by most visitors to the city. As a ‘thirty-something’ Venetian excited by the new business and communication opportunities offered by the internet, I decided to link up with a close childhood friend in creating a partnership which, at the time, was a novelty in Venice. The idea we had in mind was to approach the traditional management of my family’s apartments from an entirely different angle, while at the same time resisting the attentions of those wanting to transform my family's palazzo into a prestigious hotel. Our aim was to offer these apartments, as well as those of friends, for rental to an international clientele who’d take pleasure in the comfort, freedom and authenticity of ‘living at home as a Venetian’ rather than merely observing the city from the confines of an anonymous hotel room or suite. The common denominator then, as now, was to offer ‘something extra’ amidst an already extraordinary city - an added dimension which turns a ‘stay’ into an ‘experience’ and a 'dream' into 'reality'.
Sleeping 8 (+1) in a relaxed atmosphere of quiet affluence and comfortable living, the fully air-conditioned apartment is spread over 3 levels and impeccably presented from top-to-toe in bespoke soft furnishings and custom-built fittings all unique to Ca’ Dell’ Opera. Important: please note that the apartment only accepts fully supervised children over 6 years of age or under 1 year (non-walking babies) because of the internal stairs and ‘altana’ rooftop terrace. Generous as well as flexible in terms of space, and boasting a new and truly wonderful furnished ‘altana’ rooftop terrace offering splendid views across rooftops towards St. Mark’s Campanile, Salute and more. Stairs (quite steep and with low/restricted headspace**) rising up to the new, furnished ‘altana’ rooftop terrace where you can while away the hours relaxing in the sun, all the time admiring the remarkable city vistas all around (** please be aware that, as a result, these stairs and access to the ‘altana’ may prove difficult for the elderly, children, or those with mobility issues)
Elegance and comfort rolled into one, and one of our finest achievements to date! A short stroll to the Church of the Salute and to the Punta Della Dogana Center of Contemporary Art at Dorsoduro’s eastern tip, and close to a great choice of eating places and bars including Ai Gondolieri, Lineadombra and Ristorante Riviera for fine dining, and Osteria Al Squero and Cantinone Gia Schiavi for spritz and cicheti. An easy walk to the Conad supermarket at the western end of the Zattere, to 4 vaporetto (water bus) stops – Zattere Spirito Santo, Zattere, Salute and Accademia – for travel around the city (note that St. Mark’s Square can be reached by vaporetto from Salute in under 5 minutes on Line 1!), and to the ‘traghetto’ at Calle Lanza which, during operating hours, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to the district of San Marco. Also within easy reach of the Alilaguna boat stop connecting the Zattere to Venice's Marco Polo Airport.
