Our property, also referred to as Palazzo San Severo or Palazzo di Sangro, is one with a lot of history. Its first occupant was the wealthy Paolo di Sangro in the 16th century, who was also known as the Prince of San Severo. The Prince of San Severo and his family was responsible for the building and renovation of some of Naples' most historical buildings, such as the Chapel of San Severo situatied across the street from our bed & breakfast. The Prince's mother was Cecilia Gaetani of Aragon, from the royal Aragonese family in Spain. The Aragonese family ruled for centuries, also in Naples and its surrounding areas, and is a huge part of the history of Naples. The Prince of San Severo for therefore a part of the Aragonese family, which is why our bed & breakfast was given the name Aragonese Luxury Rooms.
Aragonese Luxury Rooms is run by Ilaria. Our breakfast therefore reflects English, and Italian food traditions. Aragonese Luxury Rooms is situated right in the middle of the historical centre of Naples, or 'centro storico' as it is called. We are surrounded by historical streets, several beautiful churches, art galleries, street art, traditional trattorias and pizzerias. There are many great tours for those who are interested in history and/or art such as underground tours and tours of different churches and chapels. At night time the area offers a number of charming bars and restaurants. Our bed & breakfast is located within 10 to 15 minutes by foot from the port where you can get the ferry's to capri and ischia, and is also close to the train station that can take you to pompeii, vesuvius and Sorrento.
