Just down the Ligurian coast from Genova in the North western region of Italy, the ancient and beautiful fishing village of Bogliasco is thought to date back to Paleolithic times, with remains of the Roman road connecting Pisa to Vado still visible today spanning a small stream flowing into the bay. The winding Passeggiata a Mare walkway is an idyllic way to explore the area’s picturesque coastline as it winds its way along the shore, and Bogliasco boasts several sites of historical interest, including the 12th century Natività di Maria Santissima and the 15th century Church of the Brethren of Santa Chiara. Bogliasco is not a particularly commercial village, with a modest offering of shops, but its proximity to nearby Genova means that no amenity is too far away.
