Lovingly restored to offer both character and modern comforts our accommodation offers two splendid double rooms, one ensuite, a private bathroom, a lounge/kitchen area and a terrace area with spectacular views. The terrace also overlooks our hazelnut grove and garden where we organically grow much of our own food. Bookings for 2 people comprise the use of Camera Verde, lounge/kitchen, terrace and bathroom. Bookings for 3-4 people will also include use of Camera Rossa and the ensuite. Camera Verde can be converted to a twin upon request. Nestled in the hills of the Langhe with stunning views of the Alps and the nearby UNESCO world heritage wine-growing region, we are perfectly placed for exploring and enjoying the wonderful Piemonte (Piedmont) region of North West Italy. We are Steve and Frances and are originally from Glasgow in Scotland. In 2013 we decided to take the plunge and follow our long held dream of moving to Italy and trying to live a more sustainable life. We bought a property in a small hamlet with an acre of land that all needed a little TLC. Working hard but enjoying every minute of it we have almost finished restoring the house, we have 2 small hazelnut groves that we take care of, a substantial vegetable garden and even some small fruit trees. We adopted our dog Lilla from the shelter and have a small flock of chickens. We travelled a lot in Italy when looking for our house and fell in love with Piemonte. Its scenery, pretty towns, friendly people and of course the weather were all big attractions but most of all it’s the respect for food, wine, the traditions of producing them well and the many festivals that celebrate them that we love most about living here. Now we want to share our love of this beautiful area with others and if you’re interested you can also learn a little about our lives here on our small farm. Come Stay!
Situated in a traditional borgata (hamlet) we are in the midst of a small, friendly farming community cultivating the area’s most famous products, wine and hazelnuts. Peaceful and tranquil we are only 2.5km from the pretty town of Dogliani with its markets, bars and restaurants and perfectly situated for visiting the Barolo wine region, the mountains and the Ligurian coast. To make the best of your trip to this area we recommend that you come by or hire a car (the roads are good and the drivers generally courteous). The restaurants are of an extremely high standard, full of local specialities and wine to die for, we can recommend some of our favourite places and you’re sure discover a few of your own. The birthplace of the slow food movement, Piemonte has food and wine it its soul. It is one of the prettiest places in Italy and we have one of the best views but don’t take our word for it - come and see for yourselves!
